The Director of Social Services is appointed by the Town Council in each even numbered year to serve for a two year term or until his or her successor is appointed. 

 

Director’s duties and responsibilities as are assigned to the office by State law which include:

• Support of the Needy  
• Services for the Elderly
• Services for the Disabled

 

The Director also assists persons and families in need of short-term financial assistance for fuel, rent, groceries and utilities through the Little Compton Assistance Association.

 

The Little Compton Town Food Bank is held at St. Catherine’s Church on Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. or can be opened by calling Susan at the above number.
